Most of our horses are quarter-horse, paso fino and criollo descents. Some
are mixed breeds of Appaloosa, Arabs and Paso Finos. No matter
their breeds, our horses are good size, solidly built and used
to the challenging mountain terrains and trails.
Each horse has regular veterinarian checks, seasonal shots and
tests. We can provide veterinarian records for all and each
of our horses.
All our horses have their hooves regularly trimmed and all horses
are shoed. And in case a shoe would fall off during a ride, our
guides are able to shoe adequately on the spot.
Each horse gets regular grooming (bathed and brushed) and is treated
against ticks and other insects.
We have a rotation work-schedule for our horses, so none are never
overworked. They have plenty of time off and vacations to
rest and chill out!
Atop of rich pastures, hay and treats (bananas), we add to our
horses' diet a supplement of vitamines and nutrients (generically
called "concentrado" in CostaRica).
